This past week saw the release of a trio of games come out on the Nintendo Wii for sale that have absolutely nothing in common. It's almost like a bawdy joke - a music game, a shooter game, and a safari game walk into a bar... We'll stop there. Well, they actually have two things in common - they're in stores now and they're Wii games.
Battle of the Bands debuts with its Guitar Hero-style duel display. This is the game that allows you to perform songs in a variety of genres, so it could be fun to hear the country version of LL Cool J's classic "Mama Said Knock You Out", right? Oh, also out this week is Heavenly Guardian and Wild Earth: African Safari. These games are available on the Nintendo Wii for sale today, so get shopping!
At first, it looked like the titles for WiiWare would be a bunch of cold leftovers from game developers trying to pitch them on the Nintendo Wii for sale. Now, things are starting to pick up as news comes in about the new titles. For instance, Eternity's Child, an upcoming release, will have a level editor.
To some of you this isn't much news, but for those who like to manipulate every little detail of their gaming experience, this is great news. Eternity's Child's creator, Luc Bernard, has said that you'll be able to control spawning points, platform locations, or "even write curse words". There are also plans for a website to share and rate user-created levels. Hopefully EC will be available for the Nintendo Wii for sale at the launch of WiiWare next month.
Telltale made an announcement that there would be a new game released to WiiWare this year. Everyone's expectation was that the game in question would be Sam & Max released to the Nintendo Wii for sale, and they were half right. While S&M is coming to the Wii, so is the awesomely titled Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.
The title features the Homestar Runner mascot and will be an adventure game in the vein of Sam & Max. There will be arcade-style minigames and humor galore. Utilizing the WiiWare concept to the fullest, Strong Bad will be released as five episodes for the Nintendo Wii for sale via WiiWare, with one arriving each month. You may remember that Sam & Max was a great episodic title, so maybe Telltale's on to something here.
Looks like an deal has arisen for Wii players in UK looking to get their hands on a copy of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, a great game for the Ninendo Wii for sale. Although Sega hasn't seemed to announce it, they've dropped the MSRP of the game in Europe. According to Amazon.fr, the price is 30 euros (roughly $46 U.S.), while the UK price has dropped to 30 GBP (around $59 U.S.).
There was also a similar cut in the price of the game in the U.S. If you're in the UK and have the ability to buy your copy of NiGHTS from Amazon.fr, you might want to. There seems to be a significant savings in store for those who do. With the Nintendo Wii for sale and actually available, I'm not sure why NiGHTS' price is so high in the UK, but who cares if you can get around it.
The sign should read "Sega games on the Nintendo Wii for sale". The once-great Sega, creators of the awesome Sega Master System, has been very smart about making sure their legacy lives on. The land of the Virtual Console has just gotten better. Wonder Boy is coming to the VC.
Sega says that the Sega Master System games are "starting at" 400 Wii points, meaning that things could get a little pricier. Nonetheless, Wonder Boy's such a great value. To make things even better, Fantasy Zone, the classic side-scrolling piece of 8-bit madness, is also up for grabs. If you didn't have a Master System, here's your chance to find out what you were missing. Now there's just the simple task of finding a Nintendo Wii for sale.
